At Dr Johan Jurgens High School we ensure high quality education which motivates and empowers our teachers and learners to be lifelong learners and productive members of the society. We want all our learners to achieve their full potential. Our task is to make it possible and our mission is to provide a platform for the same.

Success for all learners is ensured at our school by a well-balanced curriculum and a whole school focus on learner’s welfare that focuses on the positive recognition of learner’s achievements.

I, personally believe that a school that develops the imagination of the child is richer than the one that does not. I am therefor excited to incorporate new technologies into the school teaching and learning environment.

I aim to make our learners safety a priority. At Dr Johan Jurgens we initiate activities that actively promote a safe and healthy lifestyle: sport and culture. We are developing our athletes and culture participants and encourage participation. Healthy body equals healthy mind.

Parents play a vital role in the education of their children. We welcome all our parents to take an active role in the education of their children and to be the active participants in our school life. Get to know the staff, especially the child’s teachers and assist where you can so we can work together in the interests of everyone.

We truly have a fantastic school with a supportive and involved parent community, dedicated and highly skilful staff, excellent resources and buildings and the most fantastic learners to work with.
My commitment to our community is to lead the school with enthusiasm and passion to enable us to reach our goals. Let us work together to make Dr Johan Jurgens High School the best school, it can be.

“Let noble thoughts come to us from every side”

Message Mrs A. du Toit

It has been a busy start to the academic year, Term 1 report cards have already been handed out and each learner knows which subjects they need to put a little extra work into. As the exams come closer, I want to remind all learners that hard work always pays off,. All the effort that each one of you will put into your studies will reflect on your academic performance at the end of Term 2.
Academics will always be the most important part of your high school career, always remember that without good academic results it would be difficult to advance into a tertiary institution. We must always strive for academic excellence
While preparing for the exams keep in mind that it is important to reflect on both Term 1 and Term 2 work, ensure that you create a calm and healthy study environment for yourself. I hope that all learners have already started preparing by creating study notes and are busy with revision at home.
All learners need to make sure that they use this time to apply themselves in class, to do your homework and that you are on time for classes and at school everyday.
I would like to leave each learner with the following quote:
“Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the future”
